It was nice to see a D/G perspective on the usual plot concerning a canon character meeting another as children, and they drift apart and so on. This had an unexpectedly bittersweet end, though. The mood in "The End" feels very subdued and not really sad, as though Ginny does have the attitude that you spoke of using the quote at the very end - Cry a few tears and go on.



I can almost feel the deep sadness in the story because of a lost friendship, something that they could have had but did not. I loved the story (although I'll have to say I preferred the Prologue, since I like happy endings better)



I remember reading one of your other D/G fics a long time ago and liking it a lot. You write the ship really well! There's nothing here for me to complain about except a bit of strange formatting and the split up scenes which makes me feel as though your story is a little bit like a scattered pile of sand and Ginny is the water linking it together.



Nevertheless, good work!
