Ah, so very nice, Sarah. This truly is a "wished for in Book 6" scene.

I loved how it started out with Ron backing out of the room, almost as if he knew where the arguement was going. And both Harry and Hermione being the stubborn-natured people they are, I can see this arguement really happening between them.

And the last lines are my favorite: Hermione had, he realized, given him something else tonight, as precious as her love. She had given him hope.

That's what we're all wishing for.

That was just wonderfuL! I thought the entire thing was kept well in character and could actually see something like this taking place in HBP. Let's hope its done half as well as you did it!

That was a lovely story, extremely in character for both Harry and Hermione (and even Ron, ducking out to avoid the imminent explosion). I got tears in my eyes at the mention of how Harry has never heard anyone tell him they love him, not that he remembers. While the conversation may not go quite this way, it's one that has to happen sometime in the last two books.
