Strangely, I've re-read this story a couple of times over the last year and had the same thought, that it was too long - at least for a one shot. Maybe shoulda made it two chapters. Too late now...

wow, i was to the part where alex showed up to see harry and hermione kissing and i thought "hmm... let me remember what happened last chapter..." wow, i had a moment there  i really enjoyed reading this, hermione being blind as a bat, harry being jealous like no other, alex just getting on my nerves (well... he did have a good reason for his actions, but still)... and ron just being... well, NOT being ron, more like it. all wise and such.scared the bejeezus outta me  lol, just kidding great job |

I think that my favorite kind of harry/hermione story are the stories where harry has been in love with hermione for a while and she doesn't know it yet. I just love things in a guys point of view oh and i just adore jealous harry! but anyway, great, amazing story. I loved it!! Oooh, that was nice. It was really fun to read, even though i'm not a staunch fan of the whole Harry/Hermione ship brigade. It was a really well done piece of work, and very focused and easy to read - and no pervy additions, either . Please keep writing. Stick to shippy stuff, if you can - you're good at it. |
Author Feedback: Crikey! Hello there! Here you are again! How cool! Now that's interesting - you're not a staunch fan of Harry/Hermione? May I ask why you're reading at Portkey in that case? I'm not sure about the "ship BRIGADE" (I get the feeling you're talking about some of those people I've only heard about - the ones that are like MILITANT about the whole thing and HATE the idea of anyone else with Hermione). I came to ship H/Hr only from my own conclusions drawn from the books - it was after it had struck me that thee was something going on with them that I found sites such as Portkey - but all I do is write at Portkey (although I've posted at Fiction Alley too) - but I will accept whatever happens in canon - JKR is, after all, the last word!!! Ooooh, "no pervy additions"? Don't read the epilogue then!!! Because Fiction Alley only takes up to R some of my fics are a tad different over there but if you DO read one of my NC17s I'd still like to hear what you think!
OK, gotta got - I'm rambling! Thanks so much for reviewing!

Loved this one. Harry is so sweet in his angst demeanour! I guess I'm quite taken with unrequited love, he he he. I've read all of your fics (except the one that is incomplete) and they're all great! I guess the one thing missing in this fic are the lines separating the scenes. Sometimes I got a little lost when a scene jumped straight into a different one. But, see, no problems with the plot and the story! I actually loved it. Keep the good job! |

Not like all those other ones where everyone conveniantly finds someone else or is totally fine with it all, and it's not like Alex is a tosser either, he's a nice guy which makes it far more realistic. Much more like what JK would do I'd like to think. She doesn't like to condescend or sugar coat things. Bad things happen to good people and they will deal with it when they hit the real world again but right now they're happy just being happy for now. |

Actually, I feel sorry for Alex. Ron said that he seemed to really love Hermione, he didn't seem to be abusive or horrible in any way. If he seemed a bit short regarding Harry...well, it is hard to fight for the love of a woman when your opponent is the woman's close friend. Heck, if the girl I am dating were to act the way Hermione was, I'd get upset too.
So Harry and Hermione end up together, that is great. Alex, not a bad guy, gets his heart trampled on in the worst way...finding his supposed girlfriend making out with another guy.
Not sure what you can do about it now. Oh well. Well writen and interesting. Hermione should have felt more badly about cheating on Alex and hurting him (she seemed to get over it pretty quickly....a very cold thing to do), and it would have added a bit more angst if Harry didn't hate Alex so much (if he thought Alex was a good guy, he would have been more disgusted at his own actions, but unable to stop them), but all in all a good story. Just be careful not to stomp on the little characters in the future, they have feelings too.
