Heh, took Harry long enough to figure out what Hermione was doing. The immense sexual frustration coming from Harry is comedy gold in this story. Hermione at this point has him wrapped around her little finger. I wonder if he is going to try and turn the table on her now that he's figured it out. |

An unexpected, though very fitting, ending to a wonderful fiction. It made me rather sad however, and not only because Harry and Hermione have to go on alone, but because Harry looses memories of the one place that he was happy. Lump in throat moment: when Harry told Hermione he would do anything for a life with her… which just makes the fact that he made the ultimate sacrifice and still lost her all the more heart breaking.
Beautifully written.
PS. What happened to Voldemort if Harry lost his memories? Did he loose them too?

Thank you so much for reading! And for taking the time to review. I'm very glad that I managed to give you a lump in throat moment. That was the entire challenge of this fic...I wanted to reduce as many people to tears as possible. From what the reviews tell me, I think I did a fair job at it.
As to your question, in my opinion, Voldemort was vanquished when Harry destroyed the egg. Why Harry was given a second chance, why he was granted his life again, albeit without his memories, was just my way of giving a hero his just reward. Or perhaps Fawkes stepped in. There was a sequel to this written by a different author, The Great Fox 2000, which I think he called "Fawkes Gift". I can't remember exactly how he explained it there.

I know I must have read this fic before-- probably three years ago when it was written-- but i reread it today even though i'd recognized it. and it made me inexplicably sad! not only because i know i'd read it before but because Hermione and Harry exist without each other and because they will both love each other endlessly.

i\'ve read and reread this story about 100xs always knowing that the ending hasn\'t changed and yet wishing it had ...and secretly hoping it hasn\'t ...if you get what i mean. not once have i come across anything (in any fathom) as beautiful as this. i hope you don\'t stop writing h/hr by far you know angst like no other and h/hr angst is what i\'m all about.

What a way to make a girl cry! Damn ending, it was sooo sad. I didn't think it would and that way I realy didn't. Maybe it's because of all the other H/hr fics I've read where they both end up happily ever after sigh. The ending was good though however sad it is. It shows you have a unique talent for writing and I loved the bit in the Quidditch locker room
