Just lovely. Leaves an ache and a sigh. So many other H/Hr fics I've been reading have H liking Hr first and keeping his tongue until she figures out a year or two later; interesting to see this spin on it. Since I personally relate more to Hr than H (bookish vs sporty and the Chosen One), all the sadder!

They were right. This is beautiful. This is a tear-filled story. It touched me in every emotional way possible.

Very good one shot. I have tears in my eyes. ^^ It was quite intense. It feels so true... I mean, what Hermione feels at this right moment, looking at Harry... I wish JKR realized what was before her eyes!

I agree with everything you said about H/Hr, she was always there right there, and yet it still amazes me how JKR could deny this pairing their justified ending, and you know what shocks me even more she KNEW H/Hr had something. Have you hear the new quote where JKR admitted that H/Hr could have easily happened?

Once again thank you for that really sweet reply, made me feel warm and fuzzy and I absoltuley MUST read your other fics if this is any indication to your brilliance because honest to god you captured it so well. The events of the book and through Hermione's eyes it was truly beautiful and so RIGHT the way you wrote it. Absolutely brilliant job! And like I said on the forum this fic is actually one of the most poigant and touchign H/Hr one shots I have read! Absoltuely favourited!

Ok I think I *may* have recovered though the shaky feeling in my hands as I type this is telling me the exact opposite thing. This was one of the most poigant, heart-breaking, beautiful fics I have read about H/Hr. The emotion in this story combined with the uncanny exactness of Hermione's voice, it absolutely killed me, but in this absolutely beautiful way.

" In a perfect world, he would lie upon the bed with me so that I might hold him. He would tell me everything instead of bottling it away. He would smile. He would laugh. He would have healthy parents, and I would be in here because of a charms accident instead of a nearly successful killing curse.

But this isn’t that world. In this world he has to stand strong for everyone, stand alone, and all I can do is what I’ve always done. Help him. Stand behind him. Be there with my silly books and cleverness whenever he needs me. "

One of the most heart-touching, heart-felt, heart-breaking lines I have ever read. Truly beautiful. It absolutely connected with my heart and actually left me speechless.

You combine the bitter truth of their existence, with Hermione's pure and innocent but absolutely earth shatteringly strong love and convey that they're so young, oh so young, her selflessness and then Harry's pain, and so simply you show their love, it's absoltuely brilliant! Absolutely AMAZING story!

Oh man, that was beautiful! Fantastic! I've seen this linked in Accio Harry's forum sig for a while now, but I've been avoiding it due to her tissue warning (her sig labels this as "The H/H one shot that always leaves me in tears"). But the angst here was just at the right level.

You also did a very good of incorporating canon references. From her dentist dad to Cho and Viktor noticing H/H's bond to Hermione's use of the Time Turner.

This are the Harry and Hermione we know from Books 1-5. She always puts his well-being above hers. She realized her feelings for him before he could do the same for her. Her analytical mind understands that he's slow to feel love, but that someday he'll really her.

OTOH, he feels terribly guilty that he had put his friends in danger. He's oblivious that she's falling in love with him.

Now there, I think this review's 1/10 the length of your fic. Hahaha! I wouldn't know if you still come here to read your reviews, or if you get them by email. But nonetheless, thanks for sharing this story.
