I liked what you did with the Ginny/Malfoy situation -- quite believable (though will we hear from him in the sequel story?). Priscilla seems such a sweet character -- do we get to see her relationship with Neville at all? Great job, as always! |

I am curious about that whole Malfoy/Ginny angle -- I know a lot of fics see that as a good match, but it sure seems contrived to me. But, I guess some can do it better than others! |
Author Feedback: Yeah - Malfoy and Ginny, I know. What really amazes me is that I wrote "Draco's Dilemma"!!! I actually had a very faithful and lovely reviewer who was totally potty about Draco and Ginny and while I said it was impossible to write, I ended up deciding to see if I could meet my own challenge and so as a favour to her, I wrote "Draco's Dilemma" - using Draco and Ginny from the Day by Day and Four Weddings universe. But if you're not into D/G I completely understand if you can't bring yourself to read it!  And in D/G fics, they have to either have Draco grudgingly turn good or Ginny wantonly turn bad. Or make even more AU and have them both "normal"!!! I do like my dollops of canon wherever possible, I must admit! Right, I'm going back to Chapter 19...

I was dying to know what happened with Hermione and here you answer it all *and* have Harry rescue her all in one chapter! Great job! I'm curious as to how Harry knew where to find her, though -- don't wizards have to know where they are going to apparate? Anyways, on to that bedroom christening! :-D |
Author Feedback: Good grief! In over 600 reviews or whatever it is, not one other person queried the Apparition angle! To be honest, this was written before much was written in canon about Apparation - so I just blithely assumed all these lucky witches and wizards had the ability to pop up wherever they wanted! Well, I still don't like Malfoy (I'm really on the fence about fics showing him rehabilitated, and I still don't get how things ended up in DH), but I suppose we (begrudgingly) can say he was telling the truth here. Quite an interesting twist in the story -- I hope we get to hear from Hermione in the next chapter? |

Just wanted to reply to this review in particular because of what you said about Malfoy. Strangely enough, I've never been a D/G shipper - to me Malfoy is just how he's written in the books and in his case, a leopard doesn't change it's spots. However, in this story, I came up with an idea to use him (this being Portkey and all) BUT keep reading, you will discover just how it is that Malfoy's even getting close to a "foot in the door" with Ginny. Well, I know you'll keep on reading anyway, but don't be fooled - I don't believe it would be possible for someone like him to turn back to the light side... I definitely just used him in this story (and made him look better than he deserves! )

Yes, no one wants to get on Harry's bad side. This reminds me a bit of another fic where Hermione is kidnapped, though Harry & Ron aren't happy with each other in that one. I do love the depth you give all the characters in your story, Janie. Great fun to read (as you can tell by how many chapters I've already read!). |
