Oh. My. Gosh. I don't mean to sound so pathetic after reading such a sad story, but I really can't think of the words to explain how I feel right now. Sadness doesn't hit it quite on the head. I feel terrible for Hermione, however. This is, without a doubt, one of the saddest ficlets I have read in some time. Everyone seemed to be on a "happy, holiday high," so all the newest stories seem to be more mistletoe-happy and angst-less filled than gloomy longing. So this story, ironically, was a breath of fresh air for me. Seems a little backwards huh? But I'm a sucker for angst, so whatever... All right, enough babbling: it was a really well-written story (I've come to expect that from you) and I absolutely loved Hermione's heartbreaking tale. Great job showing the pain, but dash of hope, she felt.

That was wonderful, Tic-Tac - Lauren, whichever you prefer. Hermione's agony felt so real and the way you described her regrets and feelings were heartwrenching.

I hope to all the powers that be that it doesn't end like this, but it's incredible how you've made me start to accept the idea of it.
