I just read this after you posted on hp_britglish about a drunk!Harry fic-- I love drunk!Harry, so I went poking around your links till I found it.
And OMG, I just read H/Hr and liked it. You don't understand how monumental that is, probably, but it's monumental. What little het I read is usually cross-gen.
But this was really sweet and really IC, and very very well-written. I love that Hermione mentions homework on the tails of a snog. Well-done, indeed! |
Author Feedback: I'm glad you enjoyed this. I'd never written drunk!Harry before (I very rarely write Harry as less than 18 years old, actually) so it was an interesting undertaking. The first version of this story was truly awful (involving a game of spin-the-bottle if you can believe that) so I chucked that and went with Harry tried to relieve his emotional pain through drinking, which worked much better. Of course Hermione would mention homework!! She's my muse; she of all characters must be IC Thanks again. |

GReat fic! Please, donīt tell me itīs a one shot. This is beggin for a follow up. Ron got to find out, the huge talk between Harry and Him is waiting... or is it the huge fight? I love them being good friends in spite of it all... Hermione in the middle, what else can a die hard H/Hr shipper could want? Oh yeah, good style at writing and great stories, and you have those too.

Very nice story. I'm surprised you didn't mention them (or at least Hermione) hiding the porn or bottles of alcohol.
And I wonder how much Harry will remember in the morning. I suspect it will be everything.. He could have a high tolerance, and the fact that he is an extremely powerful magic user could make it a lot harder for him to get drunk - Ron obviously could handle less than Harry cause Harry had started before Ron got there and Ron went all goofy after a couple of shots and a little porn. Harry just found it interesting, and probably more informative than those videos you see in school.
I noticed that you intend to continue this, which I think is great and I look forward to, whenever it happens to come out. This was wonderfully done. |

I hope to write another segment of the series this month. I spent all of November working on National Novel Writing Month, so now I have 8 chapters of a long H/Hr fic which I will start posting here sometime before Christmas. I envision this is a series of related stories (all set in Harry's 6th year at school) rather than a long fic with a plot. What a great closing line! Very nicely done. I think the idea of Harry being completely miserable on his 16th birthday and looking for a "Sirius-like" way to "celebrate" is very likely to happen, although I'm sure JKR will leave the alcohol out of it. (I wish she'd do an NC-17 version of the last couple of books - this boy is in dire need of swearing, drinking, and sex, isn't he?  ) Harry and Ron's bonding was cool - and also very much in character. You even made ME feel sorry for Ron, when Hermione told him the truth of how she feels. I'm a little surprised that she would let Harry make their first kiss one when he is influenced by some powerful alcohol, but it works for me. And it's great that you didn't have them diving into any declarations of love or relationship talk. This was a first kiss and an eye-opener for Harry. Just that - and that's big enough in his life post 5th year. Great job, Anne. Thanks for sharing! |
