Interesting, very interesting indeed! I think you have captured the immediate scene in the aftermath of the war very well. I like the last line since it shows that there is never an end to life.

On the flip side, I think maybe the chapter could have been longer. I mean, 992 words isn't that awfully long, is it? Still, I suppose you might have your reasons to keep up with the plot.

Interesting begining I would have luve dto see alittle more dialog but this chapter was probably just to set everything up. Of course you know the length is a bit short but again I go back to my last comment , this is probably just because you were givine us a prelude. You have a very good beginning and I can't wait to see were it goes from here.
