Going through 300 pages of the "new and updated" (yeah, right) pages in an attempt to create a favorite authors list . I think I joined PK right after you wrote this so I don't remember reading it back in 2004. This was beautiful  . I've never read a graduation themed fic before, but the setting was perfect, the scenery was perfect, -- basically the entire fic was perfect. Every time I read one of your stories I feel an intense desire to suddenly be a wizard, and to go to Hogwarts, or to be an Auror, or to hang out with the "gang" at the Leaky Cauldron. I'm not exactly sure why, but now that I think about it, it's probably because you write so realistically yet so idealistically. I guess it's realism in the sense that there are so many details that I can piece together a complete picture of any scene you write in my head, and idealistic in the sense of creating a world that seems so amazing and beautiful that I just want to be in it. Yay
P.S. I'm looking forward to the next chapter of Sorcerers' Nook. LOL, that's not a subtle attempt at telling you to hurry up and update -- I already read your explanations in your review responses. I just wanted to end with the idea of reading more of your writing  . |

And what a brilliant review it is! Thank you so very much!  Do you know, that's precisely what I would love to do ("be a wizard, and to go to Hogwarts, or to be an Auror, or to hang out with the "gang" at the Leaky Cauldron")? And I think that's part of the reason why I write about JKR's world the way I do. Also, while I'm writing, I am "there" in my mind/imagination, which may explain what you said about the realism and details (which to my delight a number of readers have commented on). It really is wonderfully satisfying to hear that I can pass that sense of being there on to readers! I guess it's also that I'm writing about times and places I'd be if it was at all possible (hence the realism and idealism) - wouldn't it just be brilliant?? *sighs longingly at the thought of a day in Diagon Alley...*
As for the next chapter of "Nook" - I swear the Dark One's out there, surreptitiously thwarting me at every turn!!! *curses on you Dark One!!* I actually managed to type a couple of lines of the next chapter the other day ( I can hardly believe it!!). I'm actually planning to spend a few hours on it tomorrow - if all goes to plan (which it hasn't for quite some time now) - so, fingers crossed, wands at the ready to ward off any thwarting spells from the Dark One - I'll be working away at "Nook' tomorrow morning!

I was really enjoying this until I got the suspicion that this was going to be one with Ginny and Malfoy together, an idea totally abhorent to me, that anyone could possibly see them together ruins the story for me instantly. sorry I'm not trying to flame or anything like that just voicing my opinion. |

And how weird is this: I, too, think Malfoy is beyond redemption, always have, always will... BUT!!! I think it's that it has felt like a CHALLENGE to include Malfoy and...well...unfortunately, I'm always up for a challenge... ::sigh:: ...and so the bloody mongrel weaselled his way in... (pun intended)
Ginny and Malfoy? Nah. Not real. Not ever. But as a writer (well, a very amateur one) - they're "fun" in a weird sorta way! So, nope, I don't feel flamed and don't YOU EVER be sorry for nicely voicing your opinion!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I really enjoyed this one! Much, MUCH better than any prom I ever went to!
I like all of it. One thing stood out to me in particular, for some reason. I think it's incredibly vulnerable AND hot having Harry dressed and Hermione naked while he's taking her over the edge that first time. That takes a lot of openess and trust, which obviously they have!
It's funny you had DD with a Marauder type map, because just the other day I was thinking that even though it's never mentioned in the books, I'm sure DD (or whichever headmaster at the time) would have a way of keeping tabs on everyone. Anyhow, well done, and what fun! (I needed that!) And thank you for the previous review reply! |

First time I've been at my pc (for me!) for a few days what with all the partying etc. So glad you enjoyed this - my first multi-chapter story and I still have fond memories of the nervousness and enjoyment it brought me! I was rather pleased with myself about DD's "Marauders' Map" and having just re-read "Philosopher's Stone" (for the umpteenth time), Harry's thoughts about DD always knowing everything about everyone at Hogwarts spring to mind and I reckon you and I are right - he must've had something like that map!
OK, off to check for more reviews! Always so much more special to get them from someone you "know"!!
