Please dispense with the cheap Harlequin phrases such as "aching manhood". Other than that, it was tender, sweet, and utterly enjoyable. I look forward to more from you. |
Author Feedback: I have to admit to chuckling madly when I read your review (for which I thank you!!). I can't say I've ever read a Harlequin story but I know exactly the type of thing you mean (my grandma used to read them, she called them "penny dreadfuls"-??!!) You're right about the "aching manhood" (I just reread that bit of my fic) - but I wasn't sure how far I could go with a PG-13 rating. I have an NC-17 version saved but as this fic was published first over at Fiction Alley (when I tried to publish on Portkey they wanted a link to a story I had published elsewhere so off I went to Fiction Alley) and they don't allow NC-17 at FA so I edited it down to PG-13 and there's very little difference now between the two published versions. Very... inspiring... Hmmm...
Anyway: great one-shot, I was a bit uneasy with the female-masculine thing at the beginning, making Hermione frail and... but then again, I might be a little bit of a feministe... and I suppose Harry has every right to feel that way...
Didn't mind any of the other thoughts though,
;-p, even Harry Potter and Hermione Grnager are human and therefor are subjected to the workings of the hormones...
So aside from that one little sentence, it was FABULOUS, to me at least... |
Author Feedback: Oh God! I didn't want Hermione to appear frail - just small compared to Harry! But your POV is valid - I was aware when I wrote it that I was taking liberties - I can't recall any specific description of the difference between Harry and Hermione in OotP (which doesn't mean there isn't!) but I simply assumed Harry would eventually get taller than Hermione and due no doubt to the slight build of Emma Watson, my mental image of Hermione is that she's the same.
