Author Feedback: I felt that I had to respond to your review, Bookworm, because this is one of the most important things in Yew, and I worked my arse off making sure that it was exactly how I wanted it.
That's true. I agree. Though you have to remember, Hermione is very aware of her insecurities at this time. She doesn't know what to do with Harry, and she does feel sorry, but, just like with every complicated relationship, Hermione is starting to see the weakness in him that she sees in herself. Instead of being her normal self, she tries to mask those feelings, like you said, and it's definitely pushing Harry away somewhat.
But you know, Harry already knows what's going on. He talked to her about it. It's weakening him, yes, but that just makes him a few of the truer friends out there. He's willing to stay with her, despite her issues.
Even the saintly characters can be rather cruel, you know (though not purposely, of course)
Thank you for the review! I'm glad to see your thoughts! I hope I cleared that up for you ... if not, then ... sorry. I know I can't please everyone.
