After reading I don't know how many ffs on portkey, Dream Chasing and now Corrupting the Innocents are the reason, I finally registered - WOW! I don't know how many times I had to blink away tears reading through Dream Chasing and now I only can wait impatiently for the next chapters of Corrupting The Innocents...

All the best

Nice piece, it would be good if you added more, perhaps the POVs of our favorite couple.

Really liking this story, Gil. I love how you show the exact same scene through several different pairs of eyes - their feelings, their joys, their disappointments, their fears?

I like how in this chapter Neville is reading a book of poetry (did Nightfall actually "publish" such a book/collection?) and he randomly selects just the "right/wrong" poem. And I'm presuming that the "broken heart" was Viktor.

Looking forward to seeing more of this sometime.

Wow. Just wow. You've done it again. The emotions are just so poignant, but the last chapter, and especially this chapter, really hit home, especially this paragraph, which almost made ME start crying:

"I lower my face and pretend to knead my aching head, using this as an excuse to wipe at my suddenly brimming eyes, cursing myself for believing in the tales of my childhood … of having a handsome Prince sweep me off my feet and carry me away into the sunrise of a new day—

Fairy tales were for idiots."

Beautiful, absolutely.

Hey! I read Dream Chasing and when i saw that this is kind of sequel to it, I just started reading it. I totally love it! How is this going to end though? that's all I wanted to know. I think it's just so cute, and I like to find out what's going on in other people's head when Hermione and harry are in their special moments. ^_^

Wow... this is such a powerful chapter, Romulus. My heart ached for Neville (he's my ) because you made his bitterness and anger so believable it seemed like something right out of the books. I wonder just what Joyce wrote in that book (did you write that poem? Cause it was beautiful!) and if it has something to do with what she has witnessed in the common room. And the V-K... could it be Victor Krum? He's one of the great H/Hr shippers out there you know! Excellent job! Hope to read the new chapter soon!

Hmmm... I missed that sneaky little question in your story description. Maybe all the "innocents" *aren't* so innocent...

It never would have occurred to me that Neville might have a secret crush on Hermione. But why not? He's painfully shy and self-conscious... any kindness during his first years at Hogwarts would make him your friend. And when the kindness comes from a bright and attractive young witch, helping with potions and supportive in general... then of course we can expect to see puppy love. Only to have it dashed when he asks Hermione to the Yule Ball and is refused. Gently and sympathetically, I'm sure, but refused nonetheless.

Jealousy is an awful thing, and you show Neville's jealousy in all its spite. Gloating over Ron's stupidity... wondering what Harry's done for Hermione, since she seems to do so much for him... "Does he know how lucky he is?"

You bet your last Knut he does.

In the end, though, jealousy doesn't consume Neville... for which I thank you. It wouldn't be fair to Neville, who is at heart a gentle soul. His jealousy seems to be tempered by the realization that someone else felt as he did. "V-K", was it? Subtle, gil.

I now have to wonder which other viewpoints we can expect to see. I'd suggested Ron in an earlier review, but that may be too obvious a choice. We're looking through the eyes of those who might harbor unrequited feelings for Harry or Hermione... Parvati? Cho? Viktor, from afar? I'll wait and see.

Once again I've run out of superlatives. Well done as usual, gil. I've always enjoyed your insight... and I look forward to more.

Once again Gil you astound me with the perfection that is your prose.

Thank you very much for this joyous chapter.

I eagerly await the next innocent to be corrupted!

Okay, how did I miss this story? (I'm an idiot; I'm going blind; aliens have taken over my computer... I vote for the last one.) Better a late review than none at all.

First, I love the fact that each chapter is from a different character's POV. First chapter, told by Gillian, which sets the stage and puts the players in motion. Second chapter, told by Cindy, describing more of the Harry-Hermione harmonic -- and I would never have dreamed that Cin had a crush on Sir Harry, but it's a natural development.

And now this one by Ginny. And we see that, though this may be a H/Hr story, this is really a story about how everyone reacts to H/Hr.

Ginny comes out the worst so far. Wistful? Oh yes. Bitter? Just a little. But preparing to move on, evidently.

But: "Fairy tales were for idiots and clueless children. It was time for me to stop thinking I was living in one and move on." That is *so* not true, Ginny. Fairy tales -- tales of magic and adventure, romance and tragedy, and high moral purpose -- are for grown-ups.

I ought to know. I read Harry Potter.

Idiots and clueless children are perfectly ready to believe in magic. It's grown-ups that need to be reminded of its existence.

I would hate to see Ginny grow jaded, unfeeling, and cynical, just because her first crush didn't love her as she imagined Prince Charming should. And it would be wonderful if Ginny, by way of redemption, could pass on some hard-earned wisdom to Cindy.

Two more chapters to go, and I suspect one of them will be from Ron's POV. He, more than anyone, has a right to a viewpoint on the romance of his two best friends. But unlike his sister, he seems more accepting of it... on the surface. We'll see.

Good writing as usual, gil. Insightful, with references to canon that make me believe it one of JKR's "working memos". I look forward to more.

Ah, the Ginny issue. Something I have yet to touch because I'm much to occupied with making Ron a bastard with good intentions of course. *smirks*

I like your Jaded!Ginny, brilliantly realistic. Her feelings pretty much on the mark. Most people choose to ignore the fact that she did have a crush on Harry or just gently brush it off.

*gushes* And I'm so proud of you for the angst! Two chapters in a row.

*sighs* Now, I've got to go back and work on probably the first of many emotionally-draining chapters of "Magnolias" before both my beta-readers hang me.

Wow, definite angst for poor old Ginny. She seems a little bitter. I hope that she has cause to be (is that evil?) - in canon, that is. Nice writing, as always. You've got the inner voice in characters down pat.

Really lovely POV writing! I hadn't really stopped to think how much Ginny has probably been through before now--especially the feelings of absolute betrayal by TMR. I haven't really been impressed with her as a character but you've made me see something more. Well done and thanks!
Author Feedback: Thank you.

I was most surprised (and extremely humbled) when I saw your review for this story, especially as I haven't even posted a review for your own very interesting story ("The In-Between Places").

I just saw it this morning, downloaded the chapters but got caught up in RL (although a brief scan is more than enough to say that this is going to be an enjoyable read! )

And then, I see that you have another chapter up!

Off to read and hopefully be coherent enough to post a proper review.

In the meantime ... thank *you*!
