Author Feedback:
Thank you.
Such an inadequate way to express my gratitude for a review which is truly, truly touching. And, truth to tell, I'm crying as I read this.
May I also say 'thank you' for nominating this fic for the Portkey Readers Choice Awards? I seldom drop by there (mainly because of a heartless and evil RL situation), but someone told me that you'd posted a nomination for this fic ... and I nearly fell off my chair when I saw the nomination.
I'm not sure if the nomination will get in, however. If I remember the rules correctly, the fics should have been completed before the nomination period is opened (of course, I may be wrong, in which case I hope Joyce and Pat do consider this in the final cut.)
In any case, being nominated there is already an honor in and of itself, and I owe that to you.
(Right now, I'm tempted to go looking for the badge that the Gred and Forge Weasley gave to Percy in PoA: "Big Head Boy."
I guess the reason I'm feeling more than giddy right now is because, as I said in my author's notes, I never really thought of this fic as being on par or of the quality that so many other fics in portkey have. I remember writing it as some sort of a lark (in a way, an effort to get away from the major angst attacks I was having when writing 'Epiphanies' at the same time as this and other stories). I had always thought that this fic was too juvenile in a way, too sophomoric and (again) not really of the quality that other great and wonderful H/Hr writers have in their own works.
Which was why I never really did think of posting this to portkey.
But now, with reviews such as yours ... I am truly humbled.
And eternally grateful.
Thank you so very very much.
