This is so good, so much better then I remeber. I read this back when I was even worse,then I am now at reveiwing, I thought it was good, but one of your lesser works[though even then I thought one of your lesser works was far better then most writers' best] more of a revenge, save-the-girl-fantasy, but on rereading, there is so much more. The interplay between our favorite couple is very touching and well written, the magic, and plots are all really good. Your Blaise is also very well written, and I like the thought you put into her veiws of the Syltherin house, I mean common, if they were all evil, wouldn't the house be outlawed? Except for mostly terrible Draco-is-really-a-nice-guy*wretch* no one puts any thoughts into the snake house. There all just bad baby Deatheaters. But your Blaise is amazing actually one the best characters in this story. I know you haven't posted in a while [sadly] and Intervention part II, has a new, male Blaise, but I would love to see her again.

Author Feedback: I'm glad you enjoyed it; I had a lot of fun crafting GirlBlaise's character, and while they aren't common there are quite a number of fics out there that do take a far more well-rounded view of Slytherin House as opposed to the 'all SnakeHeads Are Evil' drivel. One of the few redeeming feature of HBP for me was Slughorn's character, the first true Slytherin I'd seen so far.
Re my writing. I know it's been a LONG time since updates. I wish I had a better explanation, but it boils down to a lot of RL and health issues producing a writer's block of truly gigantic proportions. I don't plan on abandoning Intervention Part II, though I am almost to the point of frustration of pulling it and reworking what's happened so far to plus some holes and start it moving again. In the meantime I'm reading a lot of other fics and waiting for the muse to strike.
So thanks again for rereading and reviewing, there's so much good writing on Portkey that it's nice to know I haven't ben completely lost in the shuffle.

Amazing, what else can I say.
The plot was brilliant and well thought out and the storyline was riveting. The humor was also appropriately timed.
I am glad this went beyond the 2 or so chapters you originally planned because it came out fabulously.

I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoy your stories. Once again, fantastic tale! I was pretty shocked that it turned out to be Lav, not at all shocked that the evil mastermind was Draco, and happy that Ginny and Blaise have a friendship that transcends houses.
Of course, now that JKR has confirmed that Blaise is actually male (Edinburgh Book Fest 8/15/04)- well hell, we can just stick a pin in that. It's still a great story. Hmm, maybe *he* can end up with Ginny!  Of course, that means Draco was feeling up a guy... ewwww!
At first I hated Lav, but then, after Harry looked into her memories, I felt sorry for her. In the end, even tho' she started the ball rolling, she really was just a hopeless romantic tool. Poor thing. I'm glad Hermione is as mature and forgiving as she is brilliant.
Okay, enough gushing! Now please - get back to 'Wolves & Ravens'. |
