Amazing story. Extremely angsty and moving. I agree with your opinion on Draco's punishment. Having Draco live in constant fear is something that a vengeful Harry could have done and having Hermione release him from his burden was a brilliant touch. This is one of my favorites short fics

I remember reading this a few years ago, but someone reccommended it, so I read it again.

Ch 1: Like all your stories, this was very well done. Voldemort underestimated the power of pure rage. Dumbledore would have been perfectly happy to let Hermione die, if it placed Harry into the position to face Voldemort. He really didn\'t care if Harry did as well. The only reason Harry went on in the first place was the one girl who saw him for what he was, and not what the headlines said he was.

"I'm surprisedd Snnape wasn''t killed whenn Voldemort died, especially given that you said he drained his minions to reenforce his shields. By that logic, it stands to reason that he could tap into his DE's power at will, and that open connection, as it were, would lead to taking them with him.

Ch 2: I agree completely. Many of the stories I have rea,d contain gratuitous scenes, and rape is the ugliest thing a person can do to another. 'Off camera' is often more effective for the story line.

Ch 3: As I said before, this is the perfect revenge. Unfortunately, you are correct. The Japanese have a saying: "When you seek revenge, dig two graves."

This is one of the best dark and angsty stories I've ever read. You did a damn fine job.

Good story. I especially like the scene were Harry summoned the avatar of the angel. Hermoine's response to Harry's attempted retreat was very poigant.

I've said it before, I think, but in revisiting this story I'll say it again - great ending. And great line, coming out of nowhere - "Because it’s destroying you, Harry,” a sad, soft voice said.". The 'shock' value of that, the abrupt change from vengeance to salvation/closure, it's just great.

Stumbled across this today and what a happy accident it turned out to be. Very potent, thought-provoking piece. Well done.

Oh my gosh, I don't think I have ever felt so bad for someone as much as I felt for the both of them. This is one good story though. I've had it for too long on my favorites list and finally on Portkey.

I am combing through fanfic and I found this.
I must say, it's pretty amazing, especially what happened to Draco.
I could imagine Harry feeling this truly in canon is anything happens to Hermione, given his reaction in OotP, but of course, all that went out the window after HBP. Anyway, good job!

Wow. This was really well done, and quite powerful. I dont think you have anything to apologise for. You stay away from any graphic descriptions, and leave it up to the reader to assume what happened (which aint hard), that would unleash Harry's inner power. Yikes! (loved the "oh shit" line).

Also loved the epilogue. So well done. Draco, being forced to not just live amoungst muggles, but to be the dregs of there society. What a wonderful punishment. So touching, that Hermione finally figured it out, and helped him release his anger, so he could live. Again, well done!

Wow. Very poignant. It's so like Harry to do something like that to Draco (never forgetting). Although, I'm surprised it took Hermione 20 years, but then again, Harry only needs to check up on Draco once every few years... so I guess it works. Anyway, good job!

As I reviewed in Revelations and Results, I don't take rape lightly. At the same time...I wrote a Final Fantasy 8 fanfic once that had a rather similar storyline about rape...so I can definitely appreciate this story. And admittedly, Voldemort thinking, "Oh shit..." was rather funny in a morbidly I-really-shouldnt-think-this-is-funny-but-it-is way ^^
