Is that Gubraithian Fire thing the fire that burns forever? If it is, then I think I caught one of your symbols. The fire symbolizes their everlasting friendship. When Hermione is trying to ignore her feelings because she doesn't want to hurt their friendship, she looks towards the fire. Right before that, the "crackling flames" filled the "awkward silence." I think that would make sense then.

Thank you very much for using a great writing technique, symbolism. Not many writers around PK or other fandoms realize how big a difference a little thing like this can make to the quality of the piece.

I also liked the way you did Hermione's little schpiel about Ron's fancying her. You didn't use all the cliches that we usually see in this situation. It was very nice for a Pumpkin Pie shipper to read.

They're such a good couple, and it's such an easy transition for them, from friends to something more. It's almost easy, like they were meant for each other all along but never addmitted their feelings. *sighs again* lovely, just brilliant! You did this well, my friend, very well!!

That was so sweet! I really enjoy reading it, particularly how this didn't dissolve into the fluffiness a lot of fics do. I find it hard to believe that you were only 13 when you wrote this.
