Is it just me or does what Ron said in this story perfectly sum up what his character's essence is in canon?
He couldn't see past himself enough to prevent that outburst? That shows me what kind of stock Ron is made from, which isn't much.

Author Feedback: Hey, thanks for the double review I appreciate it, especially since this story has been completed for quite a while now.
And yeah, I agree with what you said about what the essence of Ron's character is. I'm sure there was a time when I thought there is more to him than he shows in this story. Unfortunately, thinking of the Harry Potter series does not conjure up fuzzy feelings in me anymore, so I'm not likely to think charitable thoughts of any of the characters, least of all Ron. I still like fanfiction, though.. the reading thereof, not writing.
About Harry not kicking his ass, at the time my feeling was that he wasn't worth going to that extreme, and preserving the trio, blah, blah. Of course if I were writing the story now, I'd have Harry whup his freckly behind,

I really enjoyed this story. Although if I was Harry I would have kicked Ron's ass. You just don't get free passes every time you feel like being an asshole. Bah but they always forgive him, god knows why.

Great story. Ron's reaction is spot-on! Well, to be correct, I think Ron would've blown up a bit more, but overall, he's how I would imagine him here, angry at first and then rethinking his actions. Harry & Hermione were great. Guilty!Harry is pretty much how I see cannon-Harry. The same goes for your Hermione here. Great job. This was a joy to read since your writing style is smooth. You didn't employ as many colloquialism as your older stories, and the flow is much smoother here. You've refined your writing style, and as before, your plot crafting is very good. |
