What can I say? Harry's always been the haunted one. It stands to reason that Hermione is equally haunted and needs to find a way to deal with it. I just never considered how haunted she should be.

I love that. Harry always seeks her comfort. Hermione has to have a breaking point too. I've never thought of her as vulnerable like that, and I really like the way you portrayed it. He's the only one who can save her from her own imagination.

This is just so sweet. Even if JKR killed us all in canon, we can live in our alternate universe through stories like this one.

And it doesn't even feel contrived, unlike Book 6, which is.

I seem to notice the running theme of "promise me" in your fics - well, that and your fantastic taste in music. I practically lived on Pretty Hate Machine for a whole year (coupled with New Model Army's "Thunder and Consolation").

This almost reads like a missing scene... but I guess we're a long way off from something remotely like this appearing in canon. Ah - that's what makes fanfic so great.

Nicely done.

very good. very sweet. very short. but who says short stories aren't as good as long ones. they can hold just as much emotion, and save half the time. and you did both. great job
